Dropped Cake with Buttercream Icing

"Our cake was supposed to be about 2 1/2 feet tall. I was told the baker rushed in and dropped the cake on the table so hard that it collapsed on itself. Then she attempted to hide the damage with flowers that she swiped from our centerpieces. That's my throw-away bouquet, on top of the cake. Instead of cake, my guests had cake soup!" --Gloria O'Reilly, Ipswich, NY.

Melted polka-dot cake. This cake was supposed to be made from fondant, which would have resulted in crisp circles and clean detail, but the baker convinced the family that it should be made from buttercream icing because "fondant tastes bad". The main reason bakers use fondant is because it doesn't melt if it gets warm. The bride's response: "When I saw the cake I was immediately shocked and confused. I am so embarrassed by every picture of it. I hope someday to have a vow renewal ceremony with a beautiful cake to make up for this monstrosity!" -Stacy H.
